Review of Body Snatchers (1993) by Nyk P — 15 Aug 2009
The third take on Jack Finney's classic story is a far better film than it should be. The script is fairly hackneyed and doesn't bring much to the familiar story - but director Abel Ferrara manages to wring out a great deal of atmosphere and suspense with strong performances, excellent cinematography by Bojan Bazelli, and some great creepy special effects.
Not on the level of Don Siegel's 1956 original, or Philip Kaufman's 1978 remake - but it's far superior to the abysmal 2007 version.
