Review of Body Snatchers (1993) by Codie E — 20 Oct 2009
Abel Ferrara's Body Snatchers unfortuneatly swaps the subtle social and political undertones of Don Siegel and Philip Kaufman's adaptations of Jack Finney's seminal sci-fi novel, in favour of teen angst and action movie cliches.
But the film should be admired for trying to differentiate itself from those efforts and does create an interesting surrounding for the story (a military base) and explores some of the sexual themes overlooked previously.
An interesting effort.
