Review of Body of Lies (2008) by Jared M — 31 Dec 2009
After about a half hour I became annoyed with the juxtaposition of Russel Crowe's personal life and his professional life. Yeah, we get it...he has kids and deals with highly important national security problems...why does he HAVE to be always doing something with his kids while negotiating and giving briefings. "Now listen up DiCaprio! This subject is of the utmost importance to our nation's security.....good shot Johnny! You almost scored a goal!...ok these terrorists are going.....oh let me help you with those groceries....they are going to....how was school honey? Really? Thats great......they......here's the blue crayon sweetie.....Ok, now where was I? Oh yeah, these terrorists....No we will NOT watch blues clues!".
This was not one of Scott's best films. It was quite relevent, but just not incredibly interesting. I'm just a little tired of hearing about terrorists I suppose.
