Review of Body of Lies (2008) by Scott W — 29 Jan 2011
There's really nothing special about this movie: the acting is decent, the storyline is somewhat interesting, it's just in the end a fairly run-of-the-mill thriller. There has been a rash of movies set in the Middle East in recent years, and this is no better or worse than the rest of them.
What holds this one back is the forced romance plot. I think Ridley Scott should have stuck to the main plot: the film loses momentum in those scenes. This isn't a bad movie, it's just forgettable.
