A massive disappointment. Certainly not a failing on the level of "X-Files: I Want to Believe", but given all of the talent involved there's really no excuse for this. While, as you might imagine, production values are top-notch and the direction is very slick, the film fails to please because it plays it so darn safe.
C'mon, people! DiCaprio's idea on how to catch the "Bad Guy" should have been the basis of the entire film! Forcing us to become that which we hunt in order to catch it...it has a sort of Nietzsche-ian flair to it: "And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
" Now THAT would be a movie I'd like to see.
