Review of Body of Lies (2008) by Luke R — 31 Dec 2012

I didn't mind this movie, but I thought it was overly complicated and felt the casting was not quite right.

For starters, as much as I am normally a fan of his work - I didn't buy Russell Crowe in this role. I just thought almost any actor could have been brought in to perform this part - I don't think Russell was the right choice.

I'm reading in places that the role played by Leonardo DiCaprio is not being reviewed favourably, however personally I thought his performance was the stronger of the two by a fair margin. I don't know what more you could ask from him - I thought he did quite well.

A relatively solid movie, let down by some poor casting in places. Probably one to watch and decide for yourself.
