Review of Body Heat (1981) by Andrew M — 07 Jun 2007
Can I just say for the record that Kathleen Turner is a sex-goddess. Okay, got that out of the way. This remake of Double Indemnity is pretty good. The motif of the heat wearing on a person and causing him to do things he wouldn't normally do is convincing.
Kathleen Turner plays a provocatively manipulating woman who always manages to get what she wants. William Hurt plays a man who is willing to do whatever it takes to get with her between the sheets. The ending leaves you hating Kathleen Turner's character and seeing how seductively evil she really is.
Evil has a face and it isn't often ugly; otherwise it wouldn't be tempting, now would it?
