Review of Body Heat (1981) by Cherokeelady — 26 May 2008
This is not only an homage to Noir film but a worthy edition a a classic of the genre. Turner smoulders as the femme fatale whilst William Hurt is equally believable as the sleazy, incompetant lawyer who is completely transfixed by Turner.
The dialogue is indicitive of the genre but is still crisp and witty. The sultry saxophone score by John Barry perfectly compliments the story whilst never overpowering it.
The standout of the film however, is the direction by Kasdan and cinematography that captures beautifully the hot sweaty climate in which the action takes place.
