Review of Body Heat (1981) by Mike A — 28 Nov 2011
When it gets hot people start to kill each other.
Ned Racine is a simple small town lawyer that isn't known for being too good at his job. He meets a rich man's hot wife and begins a torrid affair. The two plan to murder her husband and begin a life of riches once she obtains his wealth. Once the deed is done they find it hard to trust each other and evade the law.
"Someday your dick is going to lead you into a very big hassle.".
Lawrence Kasdan, director of Wyatt Earp, Dream Catcher, French Kiss, The Big Chill, and I Love You to Death, delivers Body Heat. The storyline for this picture is fairly standard for the plot; however, the ending is a bit unpredictable. The cast delivers their characters well and kept the film interesting and worth following. The cast includes Kathleen Turner, William Hurt, Mickey Rourke, and Ted Danson.
"Maybe she'll try to fuck me to death.".
I DVR'd this picture because the cast contained Mickey Rourke (one of my favorite actors). He only had a bit role but I still found the film worthwhile despite his limited impact on the film. William Hurt and Kathleen Turner were both excellent in their roles and the conclusion of the film wrapped up the picture perfectly. I recommend seeing this movie if you are a fan of thrillers.
"A lot have tried that seat. You're the first I let stay.".
Grade: B.
