Review of Body Double (1984) by Corey B — 23 Apr 2008
Man, I knew that De Palma was a thief, but with "Body Double", he didn't just steal - he bastardized. Imagine "Vertigo" and "Rear Window", but replace Hitchcock's mysterious blondes with a porn star played by Melanie Griffith, and drop Bernard Hermann in favor of bad 80's pop.
That's "Body Double" - and for some reason, I like it (call it a guilty pleasure).
