Review of Body Double (1984) by Tomek S — 13 Oct 2011
Of course, there couldn't have been no quote from Hitchcock; some scenes are a direct rip off of "Vertigo". The flick is campy but that was fully intended and it complements De Palma's will to say a few things about film industry.
Yet, for me it was a movie containing classic Freudian triad - the main hero (probably impotent as some symbols may suggest) is torn between his desire and conscience; finally he must fantasize like in "The Lost Highway".
surely, an underestimated film and my favourite of De Palma's.
