Review of Body Bags (1993) by Dan A — 01 Oct 2011
From a time when the best horror directors of the 80's wanted to apparently do one for the fans. Like every anthology film ever made, none of the segments are on par with each other and there is a great divide of quality between them.
John Carpenter appears right off as a crypt keeper like coroner who tells us the stories. Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, Roger Corman, Sam Raimi and others all appear as well. This movie succeeds partially because of all of the fun cameos and the stylistic way that Carpenter shoots the first two segments.
While the second segment is strange and not even trying to be scary, the third Hooper directed segment is just lame. This is a real mixed bag but its a great way to get geared up for Halloween.
