Review of Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969) by Bo L — 21 Aug 2009
Barely feels dated at all, and manages to get a lot of laughs without being judgmental or dismissive towards its characters or their beliefs. (Think of how many movies or sitcoms have gone for cheap laughs by making group therapy/new age philosophy look ridiculous; this film is far more generous and open-ended.
) The ending is the slightest bit of a cop-out, if only because I wanted to see some of the aftermath, but I'm not sure they would have been able to top that last big scene.
