Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Genevieve R — 04 Nov 2012
Brilliant acting by Dennis Hopper as well as the rest of the cast. He portrayed the perfect psychopath; at times frightening and anger-inducing and at other times so over-the-top crazy you can't help but laugh.
Having only seen one other David Lynch film, Mulholland Drive, I thought this film would be more gruesome, surrealist and confusing, but instead the vagina-cutting scene and the ending with the dead bodies were the only gory moments and the plot structure was fairly conventional.
Altogether engaging and sinfully sensual!
