Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by James H — 14 Mar 2011
"I have a part of you with me. You put your disease in me. It helps me. It makes me strong.".
A movie from director David Lynch- A young man stumbles upon a severed ear while strolling through the forest and reports it to the authorities. Unsatified by the speed of the police investigation he takes a look into it himself and comes across a nightclub singer and the strangest, most sadistic man his town will ever meet.
This film is more like a work of art. It's so disturbing yet so sensual all at once. Great acting, great story and plot (if you pay attention. Remember: It's a David Lynch film), and makes a masterpeice mystery. This is one of those movies where you can't really talk about it without staring blankly as a chill raises as you whisper "....wow".
