Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Fabulous H — 23 Apr 2011
Another Lynch surrealist masterpiece. This is a film that you don't truly realise it's full brilliance until after you see it, when it starts to sink in just how perfect it really is. From little actions, the actors facial expressions, and simple plot motifs.
Lynch's attention to detail is facinating and is on par with the voyeurism Hitchcock managed throughout his career, particularly in Psycho. Unforgettable, strange masterpiece that needs time to sink in.
