Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Bill B — 12 Jan 2012
Gave this a re-watch off the To-Watch Pile on DVD just in time to start mulling over re-buying it on Blu-ray, which I'm sure will sit around until it's time to make the NEXT format change, because that's just how I do this type of thing.
Kyle Maclachlan plays a slightly oddball All-American type who finds himself ensnared in a psycho-sexual relationship with a damaged woman and the violent people that she runs with, all after finding a severed human ear while out for a walk in his sleepy hometown.
Holds up rather well, filled with some truly iconic performances from Lynch's career, this one is definitely recommended.
