Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Pee W — 08 Feb 2010
Top 10.
Even the nice polite superficial characters have deep plunging psychological damage. The most civilized dialogue seems grotesque to me. its weird Jack Nance ("my name is paul" aka erasurehead" died from an unsolved murder in real life and his ex wife committed suicide but small details like this just make it all the more sweeter. I dont believe in psychological horror, but I believe frank rapes children offscreen, its just a feeling.
Anyone who can give a lobotomy so enticing as to stay alive and respond to noises like some kind of wicked industrial ear test from hell deserves to be feared. I still dont think it was a lobotomy...
