Review of Blue Valentine (2010) by Saman G — 19 Dec 2012
Certainly a very sad but also a very realistic and honest view on how two people make their vows barely knowing each other and the disastrous consequences it has on their long term relationship.
Dean and cindy are attracted to each other. he marries her, full of hope and filled with care. cindy says yes because she is pregnant and because she decides to not have an abortion. finding herself on the verve of a lifetime change, she doesn't want to be alone and is thankful for support.
The movie goes back and forth between past and present, edited wonderfully so that the cuts seem fluid and yet leave tons of space between the valleys that separates this couples past happiness and present hollowness.
Michelle williams doesn't need to say a lot. she is a great actress who's body and face tells you everything you need to know.
