From watching this and his latest effort, Place Beyond The Pines, Derek Cianfrance knows how to capture genuine raw emotion as part of a long character driven story.
This is Ryan Gosling's best performance I've seen and I haven't seen much of Michelle Williams but I honestly think these two actors gave the two of the best performances I've ever seen.
