Review of Blue Streak (1999) by Ben S — 28 Jul 2012
Better than I was expecting, this is a faced paced and never boring film with an unrealistic but interesting plot.
Action packed, sometimes funny film with let down by some huge, unmistakable cliches which are normally packaged with this sort of film.
The black anti-hero: Check.
The ridiculous sitiuation: Check.
The chalk and cheese friendship: Check.
The big all out action finale: Check.
But despite these, it still manages to entertain because it is all that we expect and, although we may hate to admit it, it is all we really want from this sort of comedy.
Easy to follow, acted with great timing by Martin Lawrence, some other above average performances. As it turns out, it isn't all that bad.
So if you want a typical action/comedy and a good old fasioned guilty pleasure, then look no furthur than this.
