Review of Blue State (2007) by Elaine M — 20 May 2009
John Logue promises on his life that if George Bush wins the 2004 election then he will move to Canada in protest, and ends up having to follow through with it. Along with mysterious newly-met blue-haired Chloe, John sets off on a road-trip to Canada, and lots of boring stuff happens regarding the friendship they form, and even more boring boring stuff happens when they arrive.
Anna Paquin holding a gun is definitely the best part of the film, and her general presence as one of the greatest actresses ever is the only reason you should really want to watch this film. Over-politically driven John Logue is an unbearably annoying character to watch, and nothing about the movie really sticks in your head which is probably why no one has ever heard of it (and why it was so hard to get a copy of).
Watchable for Anna, but everything else is pretty empty...
