Review of Blue Ruin (2014) by Richard S — 29 May 2014
Smart and suspenseful, but I don't think the last act is as good as the rest of it. Great job by writer/director Jeremy Saulnier, and an interesting performance from Blair. I wasn't 100% sold on him, but the simple fact that he is such an unusual choice for the role goes a long way.
The best thriller - and by far the most successful indie - that I've seen in years.
