Review of Blue Ruin (2014) by Alex H — 09 Aug 2014
Austere cycle-of-revenge anti-fantasy is a winner. I don't normally go for these sorts of stark "about violence" indie movies (Killing Them Softly comes to mine), but this is more reminiscent to me of History of Violence, which is one of my favs.
Love Macon Blair's lead performance. He brings a lot of morbid humor to the table, which helps offset the tunnel-vision tone.
