Finally had a chance to catch up with Jeremy Saulnier's much praised revenge thriller Blue Ruin and happy to report that it didn't disappoint.
There have been some great performances this year in both indie and blockbuster movies but few are quite as transformative as Macon Blair whose physical transformation only echoes the emotional transformation Dwight goes through.
Beautifully shot, austere and emotionally taught, this is one of if not the best thriller of the year.
Highly recommended.
