Bleak, grim and as raw as an open wound; Blue Ruin ironically breathes life into the revenge genre with it's razor sharp grit, whilst cementing the epistemology that a unrobed tale, stripped to the bare minimum, can still be as punchy and relentless as a story manifested with complex plot twists and turns.
