Review of Blue Ruin (2014) by Javis C — 22 Sep 2015
I went to a cinema looking foward to watch something new and different kind of film, after all the summer we only had some bad blockbusters, so I saw the title of this film, I bought a ticket and watched it. It may not be the greatest film of all time but ... it is one of the BEST FILMS I've ever watched. Original and unexpected.
Here we have Dwight a bum who lives in his old car who constantly tresspasses houses to get food, money or simply for a hot bath, one day he is informed that the murderer of his parents is about to be released, he seems to be scared and angered so he goes and seeks revenge by killing him but the murderer's family also seeks revenge and now he is pursued by them.
The film has characters, Dwight is a man who is always scared with the things he will do and constantly has dilemmas within and despite he has spent many years on the strret he is still impressed with how violent the world is, also we get to watch how people nowadays are never mind of their environment and how? Dwight is always acting weird or doing "descrete" stuff but always being obvious howver people never notices him. In a way we can feel related with Dwight, we sure had a rough past which we try to escape from but in the end it will always follow us and grab us, we decide to fight it but with bad consequences.
No thoght that this is an smart thriller which should be watched by EVERYBODY.
