Review of Blue Ruin (2014) by Alexandra M — 03 May 2016
I enjoyed how this film explored the destructive all-consuming and perhaps cyclical nature of revenge while featuring a character that is not your typical action-thriller protagonist-Dwight is living out of his car, breaking and entering to bathe and dumpster diving.
He reacts in somewhat of a realistic way to being shot with an arrow rather than brushing it off. He questions and struggles with his motivations for revenge rather than embrace it with no hesitancy.
