Review of Blue Like Jazz (2012) by Victor M — 13 Sep 2012
This was an authentic movie about faith. Tested but still faith, which endures the journey. I seen the movie twice It was respectful to the condition inside everyone, a smart well written piece that is actually honest with life's condition the movie will portray drinking and bad language but no more then you would experience at a football game. Each one of us struggles with each others failures and the churches, its beliefs, culture, politics, hypocrisy. In every one there is a journey.
I feel also we may be a part or just one note of something beyond comprehension. Good movie should should not be bracketed into the christian movie column should be put into the free to think column. There is a part at the end of the movie in a mock confessional booth that was one of the best scenes I ever witnessed in cinema so many times I want to apologize for religion or other christians. It is not preaching or trying to save you, it is the opposite a search during the war inside every one of us .. Sort of similar to a Jonah story with personal rebellion, but he could not escape the path no matter how far he went he wound up in the end a witness in a foriegn place though chosen by man to be there. The God of creation moved much to place the main character right where he was to be used, more I think about movie more I liked it, it was fresh.
