Cate Blanchett gives a terrific performance as a rich socialite New York woman who goes to stay with her poorer sister in San Francisco after her husband gets thrown in jail for illegal practices, kills himself, and the government has taken away all her assets.
It is a drama that is all over the place, but is anchored nicely by Blanchett and a terrific supporting cast. Woody Allen continues to make a film that can make you laugh and feel a bit sad at times.
