Review of Blue Jasmine (2013) by Tor M — 18 Apr 2014
I love Woody Allen's films. There are so many films of his that I like, and this one have gotten quite good ratings as far as I know.
This turned out to be one of my least favorites of him. It's down there with "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", "Interiors" and possibly "Scoop" as I don't remember it as a good one.
Well, this is not a horrible film, and not at all a poor film. It starts of really good. It got that nice feature that movies rarely have - you react to something that's happening - something that doesn't feel right, and the minute after you get it all cleared out - evrtything is OK again. I get that feel, it's a good one.
After a while I get more into the story - it's getting less funny and more drama-like. The drama is not affecting me and the result is rather flat.
I think that Blanchett is doing a great job and we got a smooth flow and some neat imagery here.
This is pretty straight forward and will be forgotten rather soon.
6.5 out of 10 vodka drinks.
