I don't even know why people think this movie is a "comedy"...I did not laugh, I think is a serious film, a dramatic film since Cate's role is what I think is called "the life of the rich and the hurt it leaves when it consumes you".
Yes, I find rich people boring and this movie let me know I was right. They are depressing, they cannot live without rich stuffs surrounding them, they have it all and when they have nothing they go like "why?".
They are not people of gratitude in my opinion. (I'm not saying all rich people are like that but having all the money in the world don't make you the happiest, you know?). Anyway, 3 stars of 5 only.
It's a DRAMA to me, and Cate nailed it in a stunning way! But still, not my fave movie of all the ones I saw this week (movies that are nominated for this 2014's Oscars are half good and that for me is bad).
Oh well, the cast did great, the music score was absent somehow, and the script has flaws but Cate saved the film for me and that's that. Enjoy. - February 21, 2014 review.
