Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Savannah H — 05 Nov 2013
Blue is the Warmest Color made me feel as though I wasn't watching a movie but the actual life of Adele. But this seems to be the style of more and more modern french movies, such as last year's Tomboy.
Concerning its controversial length and sex scenes, the length didn't seem too excessive but the sex scenes were. Used sparingly they may have worked but at their unabridged state they were uncomfortable.
What carries the movie is Adele Exarchopoulos, and rightfully so. Though this isn't to say Lea Seydoux doesn't hold her weight as well. It's worth a see but arguably only for the girls.
