This film should have been entitled, "Close-ups of Many People Stuffing Their Faces With Spaghetti." Seriously, fire your DP before making your next film. The actresses were glorious, but the film and its director deserve no awards, let alone at Cannes.
Three hours to tell a story that could have been done in 90 or less. Heartless film. The ending saved it from utter oblivion. And what was the reason for it to become a porno 70 minutes in? Why the 8 minute porno? The director reduced his female characters to whorish trash, using every cliche in the book, including oysters.
Awful direction. I can't believe this won the Palm d'Or.
