Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Chris H — 17 Dec 2013
Exachopoulus is stunningly beautiful but alas as is often the case uninteresting in personality and in fact sexuality. Almost all the characters suffer a similar inadequacy as does the French cultural setting.
You have know idea aside from teen lust to explain the various behaviors and social patterns, most adults are dull stereotypes to boot. The main characters are butch and dyke cutouts with the basic cliche that the pretty young one turns skank and gets the rejection deserved by the end of the film.
Nice 50's morality play with all the would-be hipster touches of lesbian love as the imagined theme. Girl meets girl, girl tramps, girl gets dumped. Sorry, it's a tedious film.
