Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Tom S — 07 Jan 2014
I kinda doubt it would have gotten as much press without that infamous scene, because altogether it's not a terrifically original film -- there are plenty like it, with purposefully overlong scenes with typical dialogue meant to explore characters' feelings hidden intentions and desires. Ultimately I felt there weren't enough scenes that hooked me in, yet there were several powerful moments that demonstrated just what it is like to fall in love.
EDIT: It does get better on reflection.
