Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Camilo D — 27 Feb 2014
Blue is the Warmest Color has larger than life and simply extraordinary performances, some very romantic sequences and it is imbued with a couple of powerful emotional scenes, but it is also a bit disappointing owing to a tad long running time, an overemphasis on sex, sometimes stereotyped approach and the tired and totally unnecessary cheating part.
It tries to be honest, but achieves it only partly. It is still a very good film, but not a classic as critics make it out to be.
