Blue is the Warmest Color is unfairly being labeled as the "3 hour long French language lesbian love epic." It's not an inaccurate label, but an unfair one. Leave the controversy in the rear view and just watch it.
The performances are terrific and the drama is strikingly real. It's an exceptional piece of cinema.
