Brilliant evocative drama, this is a superb drama that features some wonderful performances, a great story and effective direction create something truly engaging. If you enjoy a solidly paced, well layered picture, Blue is the Warmest Color is a film that is sure to delight viewers that want a richly detailed plot with immaculate performances.

The film is not for everyone, as the content might be a bit too much, but for those who want a well executed drama that is well layed in a way that it steadily unfolds before you, this is a terrific drama that tells a great story that is quite simple, yet engaging due to its cast who are terrific in their roles.

The film is nothing too elaborate, but that's what makes this film standout. Using simple ideas, the filmmakers were able to get the most out of the film's story with such a simply idea. This is a terrific film, one that is steadily executed in the sense that it unfolds slowly before your eyes so that you become more attached with the movie's characters.

There a few aspects of the film that could have been improved upon. However, there are enough great elements at work on-screen to make this a well executed drama that is worth seeing.
