Maybe I just don't "get" foreign films, I don't know. Other than the ridiculous and gratuitous sex scenes, I don't see what all the hype about this absurdly edited, overly-long flick is.
I mean, sure, Adele Exarchopolous' performance is great, but the movie is dull, none of the characters are likeable, and the whole thing is as subtle as a bag of hammers to the head in all regards except the passage of time, which is really poorly marked.
I just don't get it.
