Blue is actually the coldest colour, as is this film. Cold, didactic, affected and pointless - and this is coming from a gay woman! There was not a spark of love or need igniting between Adele and Emma.

Felt like Emma, the cliched tomboy dyke, was playing with an 'idea' of herself and pulling the curious Adele in for experimentation. Not an authentic pulse was beat throughout the entire film.

At times insufferably boring. There were only 7 men at the showing I attended. They were all on their own and sitting far apart. One of them I know "tossed his monkey" during an intense and graphic sex scene then fell asleep for the rest of the film.

This film gives weight to the argument that major Film Awards, such as Cannes' Palme D'or are more to do with the politics of the day than film.
