Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Hady M — 27 Dec 2013
Blue Is The Warmest Color is a very poignant story about being a lesbian and first love. While I feel like this movie would not have gotten nearly as much attention if not for the long, graphic sex scenes, they were expertly done.
You could definitely feel the 3 hour runtime, as the director kept a lot of scenes that gave us a look into what Adele's day-to-day life was like. It wasn't always pertinent to the story, but it did give us a sense of her character.
Both stars had great chemistry and were very natural in their roles. If you're a fan of realistic love stories and aren't turned off by explicit on-screen sex, this film is worth a watch.
