Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Erika M — 04 Jan 2014
This movie is the perfect coming of age story and such an accurate depiction of how volatile and life- changing a first love can be. It is amazing how Adele grows before our eyes in a span of just three hours, and we are such accomplices in her journey, her confusion, her new discoveries, (hell we watched her have sex for the first time for 15 minutes straight!) that when her relationship goes sour, her pain becomes ours as well.
In the film, this love destroys her innocence but gives her the gift of womanhood, the kind that can only be acquired by experiencing how ravishing love is.
