Review of Blue Collar (1978) by Steve B — 02 Jul 2007
Superb drama looking at the "American Dream" and how to go about getting it. Three guys working in a Detroit car factory decide they've had enough of their corrupt union and set out to do something about it.
Powerful film (Paul Schrader's directorial debut) with a cast at the top of their game including a relevatory turn from comedy genius Richard Pryor. Essential viewing for any fan of US maverick cinema.
Couldn't have been made in any decade but the 70's...
