Didn't know what to expect from this. Directorial debut from the man that wrote Taxi Driver and certain comparisons could be drawn, particularly the way Schrader is interested in building and developing his characters.

The movie involves three working class guys who work at a car factory. They're down on their luck in different aspect of their lives and try to do something about it.

Pryor is great in a straight role and Keitel and Kotto do a great job too. Scrader knows how to develop his character and their relationships with one another, and this is what makes the movie. If you're not invested in these 3 guys, then the movie doesn't work. BC raises some important political issues of the time, without ever being preachy.

BC is an interesting film with some unexpectantly dark moments, the writing and direction are superb too, its a shame we didn't get to see Pryor in too many roles like this.
