Review of Blue Chips (1994) by Shaun J — 25 Nov 2007
My favorite all time movie because it has the perfect mix that any good sports movie should have. It has the A-Hole coach who is a good guy and heart and wants to win right. It has the crappy actors who basically play themselves as basketball players, but because you wouldnt believe a basketball player can act, they convince you they really are players.
Third, there is a great villain played by the late, great J.T. Walsh. He is the slime bag with whom everyone knows somebody just like him and they all think that guy is a dick too. And last, but not least, there is a great moral center of the story, which of course comes full circle with a great speech at the end of the movie.
Ohh yeah, and Al Bundy is in it too!!!
