Review of Blue Caprice (2013) by H G — 10 Oct 2013
Blue Caprice, what a beautiful, french sounding title for a ride. When starting out on the sunny sandy beaches of a tropical island, how would you assume that this blue ride is actually of the blue of death and coldness? You just sadly watch the life and humanity of the young boy trickle away, all the beauty slowly, and then suddenly vanish under the mentoring of his "Dad".
Why? Who knows? But this movie asks anyway, with elegance and style, as painful as it has to be. And it's all thanks to the subtle craft of the filmmakers, the impressive and harrowing character performances of the boy and father.
