Review of Blue Blood (2006) by Matt S — 29 May 2012
Documentary about the Oxford-Cambridge varsity boxing match.
It's excellently made, very knowing in a good way and genuinely funny. A couple of times the way they edited something made me laugh out loud.
It always keeps its distance, but still gets close enough to the main protagonists to allow you to feel some considerable empathy.
It's basically a warm, engaging and funny take on some fairly basic human traits that transcend class divisions - fear of failure, insecurity, friendship, humour, ambition... I highly recommend it.
