Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Nia A — 10 Aug 2008
Not a lot of people like this film because it's too weird, or too simple. Not a lot of dialogue, which has become one of the things I highly appreciate in films. The film starts off showing an ordinary life of a wild photographer, but changes rapidly when he suddenly photographs a murder in a park, and is forever determined to find the culprit.
Yes, it's all very strange, but it's so very, very clever. The plot reminds me a little of a Hitchcock film, in the way an ordinary mans life is changed forever.
