The best Hitchcock film that Alfred never made. Brian DePalma's 1981 noir thriller tells the story of a movie soundman (John Travolta) who inadvertently records a murder while capturing location audio in a city park.
The murdered man turns out to be a prominent politician with many enemies, and Travolta soon finds himself the new target. This slick, stylish thriller is riveting not just for its engaging storyline, but because it celebrates the process of filmmaking and takes us firmly into a usually closed world.
Although there are many plot holes near the end of the movie (what, no legal ramifications for ol' Johnny's high-speed car chase?), the end result is quite satisfying and a lot of fun.
